Turtle Softies
I found this turtle softie tutorial HERE. We decided to make one with 2 patches of white on the shell. Ella took it to school and her friends signed it on the last day of school. Super cute!
Then we helped Hannah make a turtle when she came over to visit.

Teacher Gifts
Mikey Applique
I have been buying plain T-shirts and appliqueing Mickeys out of cute fabric. Sally has a Rapunzel one and and Ariel one. Ella's is just cute black and white flowers and Ryan's is space. I've also made Buzz Lightyear ones. And we made this cute pink princess-y one for a birthday gift with matching skirt!
Sunglasses Case
I made these sunglasses cases for gifts. I found the pattern HERE and then just added a ruffle and flower. I love how they turned out. They are lined with fleece or minkey. I gave them all away so I still have to make myself one!
Gathered Pillow
I made these pillows for Mother's Day. I found the tutorial HERE. I love how they turned out and they are fun to make.
Stuffed Birds for Easter
I got this darling bird pattern HERE from the Sewn Spaces book. You can download the pattern for free. I sewed at least 10 of them for Easter.

Rapunzel Quilt
I am still working on Sally's Rapunzel room. I just finished this wall quilt and I love it. Her room is so busy - with all her toys and tiny objects she collects, so I knew I wanted it simple. I love how it turned out and I love the tower. I just drew the silhouette of the tower and appliqued it on. I also love the quote from the movie. The fabrics are also super cute close up.

Ella's Easter Skirt
It is difficult to find dresses for Ella or skirts for that matter. Anyone else have a daughter size 14 slim and only 11 years old? So, I decided to sew a skirt. I fell in love with this fabric from Robert Kaufman - vintage inspired. I love how it turned out. I also found a cute purple shirt - $5 at walmart - it even has cute ruffles on the top and is gathered at the bottom which works perfectly with the skirt. I sewed a fabric flower to make a pin to add to the shirt. I plan to sew a matching headband.
Sally's Purple Kitty
Sally wanted me to make her a stuffed kitty. I found this pattern on Sew 4 Home. We made it out of Minky and Sally choose the fabrics. Purple kitty also needed a little blankie.

My Tree Quilt
I finished the tree quilt. I love it. I used Moda Fandango charm packs for the leaves and the border. I had to draw the tree myself because I didn't have a pattern and I am not very good at drawing - so it turned out pretty good considering I don't have any art skills.I just stippled the cream background, then did 1/2 inch straight line stitching on the border and then quilted the tree a little.
I wanted a tree quilt so I could put this vinyl saying next to it - that is where the whole idea came from. I just love it. It took me 2+ hours to cut the vinyl and hand it evenly - that is way stressful!

Piano Music Storage Solution
I found this sad little piece at a garage sale. I snatched it up for $2. (garage sale tip: never ask what they want, always make an offer. It also helps to point out what poor condition it is in!)
Anyway, I knew it had potential. I sanded it, spray painted it, and then gave it an antique feel by sanding the edges and wiping it with a brown glaze. Then I attached fabric from the "Moda Fandango" line (which is inspiring my dining/living room). And I love it. It fits all the children's music perfectly. Yea!
